MENOPAUSE

Two such terms are premenopause and perimenopause. These two terms, which define phases of menopause, are often mistakenly interchanged.
Premenopause

It is the first stage in the menopause transition that starts with puberty and ends with the onset of perimenopause.

No noticeable changes, but hormones start to shift.

Menopause

The transition from reproductive to non-reproductive.

12 consecutive months with no menstruation.

Is an unavoidable change that every woman will experience.

Postmenopause

Postmenopause is the time after you've been without a menstrual period for 12 months.

During this stage, menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, get milder or go away.
